Hérard escapes in the prison breaks — still a fugitive

When the Viv Ansanm gang federation stormed Haiti's two biggest prisons in March 2024, Dimitri Hérard escaped. He remains a fugitive. In 2025 the U.S. Treasury and the UN sanctioned him for allegedly supporting Viv Ansanm — sanctions are not a Moïse-case conviction, and he is not named in the U.S. Moïse indictments.
