The big Miami trial opens — Sanon severed for medical reasons

Jury selection began March 9, 2026 before Judge Jacqueline Becerra. Sanon's case was severed for medical reasons and set for a separate later trial. The trial ran nine weeks, with more than 40 witnesses and some 8,000 GB of data from over 100 devices. Martine Moïse testified in March through a Creole interpreter, recounting her husband's last words: “Honey, we are dead.”
